Nursery Practitioner

We are currently seeking 2 passionate, hardworking and committed full time level 2 or 3 Nursery practitioners to work within the team promoting high standards of care and education inclusively for all the children in our care. A sound knowledge of the Early Years Foundation stage is essential with experience of being a key person.

 Purpose of role

  • Promote high standards of quality within the nursery regarding the environment and  resources for children, experiences offered to children and planning and record keeping.
  • Assist in the implementation of ‘The Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum’.
  • Promote and facilitate partnership with parents/carers and other family members.
  • Support the development of good practice with regard to special educational needs, disabilities and inclusion.
  • Ensure that children are kept safe and that staff understand and when necessary follow Child Protection Procedures
  • Ensure that the nutritional needs of the children are met and that Food Safety Regulations are complied with.
  • Work with advisory teachers, health professionals, local Sure Start programs as appropriate
  • Develop and maintain highly professional working relationships with relevant Local Authority Departments, OFSTED and other agencies.
  • Remain abreast of current developments in childcare and education policy and practice.
  • Act as a Key Person, supporting a group of children, liaising closely with parents/carers, supporting each child’s emotional wellbeing and model this to other staff members and support them in this role.
