A day in the life

A Day in the Life

8.00am: We open up our secure double doors to welcome the children and sign them in.

8.30-9.00am: We offer the children a choice of healthy, yummy breakfasts, freshly made in our own kitchen.

9.00am-12.00pm: Children choose if they want to play inside or outside. Every day, our staff carefully plan a wide range of activities, focussing on children’s individual interests, so they always enjoy a stimulating environment.

Throughout the morning, the children also take part in smaller group activities with their Key Person. Activities include: cooking, planting, marble painting, water play, role-play, building and playing with toy cars.

12.00pm: A healthy, delicious hot lunch is served at midday. All meals are prepared on-site by our wonderful cook, who sets and adapts menus to fit the children’s cultural and dietary needs. We encourage older children to serve themselves, to help them gain confidence and independence.

1.00pm: This marks the end of the morning session and the start of the afternoon. Staff share children’s achievements and activities with parents or carers as they pick up their little ones. For those dropping children off, staff ask what they have been up to that morning, so they can build it into the afternoon’s activities.

The children are free to choose their activities inside, or in the gardens, with staff following their interests.

3.30pm: Tea time! The children are served a light meal, and when they are finished, they can go back to their activities or choose something new to do.

As the day draws to a close, we give the children quieter activities, to help them wind down before home time.

6.00pm: We close our doors after another fun-filled, busy day.
